Kinkamon Pirtti Smoke Sauna Rental
Welcome to the atmospheric steam of an authentic, traditional, and award-winning smoke sauna on the shores of Lake Poskijärvi! Kinkamon Pirtti’s smoke sauna has been built with love and respect for tradition from trees harvested in the host’s own forest, and it has been awarded twice by the International Smoke Sauna Club.
Before your sauna experience, you can refresh yourself on Kinkamo’s 2.5 km nature trail or enjoy the popular elf trail for children. After the sauna, a dip in Lake Poskijärvi—or a plunge into the ice hole in winter—completes the relaxing experience. Atmospheric sauna snacks can be enjoyed in the kota hut or lean-to shelter, which are available for sauna guests.
What Makes Kinkamon Smoke Sauna Special?
Kinkamon’s smoke sauna has been hand-built from aspen logs that were dried for several years before use. The sauna host, Hannu, is happy to share the history of the sauna and guide guests into smoke sauna culture and the proper way of throwing steam in a smoke sauna.
The sauna features an externally heated stove with 600 kg of stones, ensuring soft and long-lasting steam through careful and lengthy preparation. The exceptional quality of the steam has also been recognized by honorary mentions from the International Smoke Sauna Club.

Smoke Sauna Guidelines
Welcome to Kinkamon Pirtti’s smoke sauna.
The hosts will guide participants through the sauna experience.
As a rule, women use the lakeside sauna facilities and men use the Kytötupa for changing, showering, and toilet facilities.
Please reserve enough time for your sauna session so you can enjoy an unhurried and relaxing experience.
Make sure you have brought swimwear, a towel, slippers, and possibly a bathrobe.
If you are missing any of these, swimwear can be borrowed from the changing rooms. Please return borrowed items to the laundry baskets provided.
Always wash yourself before entering the sauna to keep the facilities clean and to show consideration for fellow bathers.
Sauna hats are also available for use during your session.
Seat covers and towels are provided; used items should be returned to the laundry baskets.
Calm your mind before entering the sauna. Remember to bow at the door when entering and exiting.
Clean sauna water is ready in the sauna and can be replenished from the shower or changing areas. Lake water must not be used on the stove. Do not allow sweat, debris, or foreign substances to enter the sauna water. Herbs, herbal infusions, or food such as sausages must not be placed on the smoke sauna stove during bathing.
Pour steam gently using the long-handled ladle, directing the water to one spot on the stones so that everyone can enjoy soft and pleasant steam.
Fresh drinking water is available in the sauna lounge and on the terrace. Remember to drink enough water during your sauna session. Coarse salt and salty crackers are also available.
If the sauna feels too hot, you may open the ceiling vent. Remember to close it once the air has cooled. Protect your hands before opening the vent by using disposable gloves, which are available in a box near the seat cover storage.
Refresh yourself between sauna sessions by relaxing on the terrace or in the sauna lounge, washing in the summer shower, swimming in Lake Poskijärvi, or dipping into the ice hole during winter.
If you are sauna bathing with a larger group, please avoid loud noise or arguments and allow others to enjoy a peaceful sauna experience.
After sauna bathing, shampoo and washing products are available in the washing facilities.
Make the sauna a relaxing and calming experience for yourself and others.
Wishing you enjoyable moments in the smoke sauna,
Kinkamon Family
