Smoke Sauna Instructions
Welcome to the Kinkamo Cabin smoke sauna.
The hosts will guide participants through the sauna event.
As a rule, the lakeside sauna has women’s changing/shower/WC facilities, and the Kytötupa has men’s facilities.
Please allow yourself enough time for sauna bathing so you can enjoy an unhurried and relaxing experience.
Remember to bring a swimsuit, towel, slippers, and possibly a bathrobe.
If you do not have these, swimsuits are available to borrow in the changing rooms. Please return them to the laundry baskets after use.
Always wash yourself before entering the sauna to keep the facilities clean and to respect fellow sauna users.
Sauna hats are also available to borrow during sauna bathing.
Bench covers and towels are provided as well; please return used items to the laundry baskets.
Calm your mind before entering the sauna. Remember to bow slightly at the door when entering and leaving.
Clean sauna water is ready in the sauna and can be replenished from the shower or changing area. Lake water must not be used on the stove. Do not allow sweat, debris, or foreign substances to enter the sauna water. Herbs, herbal infusions, or sausages must not be placed on the smoke sauna stove during sauna bathing.
Pour water gently onto one spot on the stove using the long-handled ladle so that everyone can enjoy soft, pleasant steam.
Fresh drinking water is available in the sauna cabin and on the terrace table. Remember to drink enough water during sauna bathing. Coarse salt and salted crackers are also available in the cabin.
If the sauna feels too hot, you may open the ceiling vent. Remember to close it once the air has cooled. Protect your hands before opening the vent using the disposable gloves provided in the box by the bench cover storage.
Between sauna sessions, refresh yourself by relaxing on the terrace or in the sauna cabin, washing in the shower booth during summer, swimming in Lake Poskijärvi, or taking a dip in the ice hole during winter.
If you are sauna bathing with a larger group, please avoid excessive noise or arguments and allow others to enjoy a peaceful sauna experience.
After sufficient sauna bathing, shampoo and washing products are available in the washing facilities.
Make sauna bathing a relaxing and calming experience for yourself and others.
Wishing you enjoyable moments in the smoke sauna,
The Kinkamo team
